Relevant programme: Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-border Co-operation Programme
Title: Computer Industry Competency Based Cross-border Business Building
Acronym: CompComp
Projekt ID: HUSRB/1002/211/047
Duration: 01.01.2012.-31.12.2012.
The main objective of the project was to build new business connections across the border based on competency research among the members of the Vojvodina ICT Cluster (VIC, Novi Sad) and the Software Innovation Pole Cluster (Infopólus, Szeged). Both VIC and Infopólus had their own methodology to measure the competencies and market domain presence of the member companies. These methodologies could be developed, merged and applied for VIC and Infopólus the same time. Based on the database to be created possible cooperation targets had been identified and business partnership built up.
The project is a focused effort to find potential partnerships in the ICT industries of the cross-border region. The main target groups are the cluster member companies in SIPC and VIC. (The clusters are open for companies that are willing to join.) The competency database will also provide vital information for the cluster managements about potential expansion of the cluster activities. It will also be a useful tool for national or regional development agencies that look for ITC companies in other partnerships.
Additional activities, based on the existing research included targeted training on legal issues of building a cross-border business effort, intellectual property rights, possible patenting issues. Business training modules included project management, marketing and sales, customer relationship management.
Building new business partnerships requires knowledge of the potential partners. Information about companies in an other country speaking an other language can be very hard to obtain. The collection of the information
(compilation of the cross-border competency database) is a focused effort for the ICT industry and its most active companies. They are leaders in their respective regions but has little knowledge of the markets in the other country and the potential partners. Businesses looking for partners in the region can also get up to date information about competencies available. New business relationships are created and this will create new jobs in the region.- Partners
